Another Tubi classic. Apparently this movie goes by both "The Sand" and "Killer Beach." Pretty cool premise. At least it came out before all of the low effort streaming movies, I suppose.. that's something. It said it's only 1:24 too so that's nice.
Ok well a minute or so in and there are some boobs. I guess they know how to lure people in. But then the topless woman dies like immediately, so there goes that.
The acting in this movie is so bad. The one girl's boyfriend dies and while she's scared to start, she just kind of brushes it off for the most part. She does mention him dying a couple times but it's very nonchalant. She just watched his face get ripped in half by sand .. entities.. and she's like "meh it's cool." I didn't expect great acting or anything, but this is bad. Jamie Kennedy makes a cameo in this. I had no idea he was in it and he really didn't need to be. He added nothing.
This whole movie is basically a really long "the floor is lava" sequence. It's only 1:24 but it's WAY too long for what it is. This could've been a 15 minute youtube video. No tension. No real story. No character development. It's just .. people are stuck and can't touch the sand. The dude in the barrel is super annoying.
Something worth noting is that there are a LOT of close ups of feet in this. WAY too many for me, a noted foot hater, but if that's your thing, you're going to love those shots.
The CGI in this movie is TERRIBLE. It's like a 3d cartoon superimposed over the regular film. Like they didn't even try to make it work well, they were just like "eh whatever, good enough" and gave up.
Oh and the one dude has the worst stubble on his chest that looks absolutely miserable. I've never shaved my chest, but I cannot imagine how that feels growing back in. Gross.

No, of course not. I'm surprised this was made and the shots it has are as good as they are. Everything else is terrible.
