Very nostalgic movie here for me. This movie popped into theaters my senior year of high school, but I only watched it when it came out on "home video." I can't even tell you how many times I watched this because it used to play on HBO and the like all the time during college. This movie is one that I would always leave on if I saw it. Given how many times I've seen it, I felt like I knew it all from the go and didn't really need to have the "will it hold up?" question.
IT DOES! It's still funny. My kids were somewhat shocked by the way they said "fag" and "queer" and stuff, but otherwise thought it was a funny movie too. James Marsden plays such a funny lovable goof. Marley's positivity was somewhat ridiculous to me at the time but I kind of like it now as a middle aged man. Mena's character in many ways was quite similar to my wife. I'm not sure what this says about me. Melissa's obsession with Conan O'Brien and all-leather furniture is still funny. Rachel being "the big retard" made us all laugh, but her obsession with horses got the most laughs from my daughter. Oh and Marla Sokoloff plays a douchey character REALLY well. Like maybe too well.
This movie is VERY 2000/2001. It's a time capsule of all the goofy stuff going on in that period. The colors, the personalities, the language.. it's all very funny to see looking back. I miss it.
Anywho, the premise of this movie still works. It's pretty short (~1:23) so it doesn't drag at all. I still think the Pregnant Betty's are one of the most iconic bank robbers in movie history. FIGHT ME!

Yeah, I love it.
