Wishmaster had some disappointing Djinn action, but maybe ..DJINN.. will be better!? Tobe Hooper has a long history of making horror, so it's hard not to be at least a little bit excited about it. I had no idea what this was other than the fact that it was called Djinn and done by Hooper.
The story revolves around a djinn who somehow mates with a human and then her son is "cursed" into being a human only. And then, you know, things happen. This is probably more effective for muslims or I guess people who believe in spirits and all that. Also new parents? I don't know. It's not scary in a horror-y way. It has elements of being a thriller more than horror if you ask me.
Acting was fine, though there were moments where they seemed really off. Really pretty women in this, though. The djinn has some cool creepy moments on screen but when it speaks, it kind of ruins things.
Pacing is not great, though the movie isn't particularly long. It felt much longer than it was. It's probably because nothing really happens in the movie.
All that said, it's not a bad movie. It's not good, certainly not memorable, but it's not bad. It just kind of "is."

Nope.
