What to say about this one.. Hmm... I guess the first thing you should know is that I went into this totally blind. I had never heard of this movie before and didn't read any reviews about it. I saw it in the Tubi "Horror" section and thought "this looks interesting."
Let's start with some good stuff! This movie is a Victorian ghost kind of tale, which I really love. It's my favorite type of short fiction and something I revisit every year when I'm prepping myself for the end of the year. Thematically and in atmosphere, it totally nails it.
The acting is GOOD and BAD depending on the person and scene, which is never good. You will definitely notice some of the people in this, or at least ONE if you've seen Game of Thrones (Conleth Hill). The two main islander men are pretty solid throughout, but the real shakiness is seen in Oliver. Total over-actor. Ugh.
The pacing in this movie is atrocious as well. It winds up being 96 minutes but it feels like 960 minutes. Part of it can be chalked up to the style of movie it is, but you have to move it along and make it enjoyable to watch. There's no real tension being drawn or built. It's a lot of fluff.
I also need to mention that the story makes very little sense once you see why things are what they are. Very bizarre choices being made there. I wanted to like it, but even I can only go so far.

This is a hard one to recommend. It's ok but nothing more than that. It has so little fanfare that it doesn't even have a wikipedia article...
