This is only technically a Western as it's set in Mexico. The cast is great, but the dialogue is.. very 1940s Hollywood. It's curious to me how that style of script was so popular - unnatural, stilted, and such an odd cadence in the lines. This movie has a lot of drama and intrigue. Who do you trust? Who should you trust? There's action in it as well, including that amazing 1940s style of death acting. This movie holds up despite it's goofiness from the time period. This would probably be worth a remake.
