This took me two days to finish. It's nearly 2 hours, which I normally wouldn't break up for so long, but I was incredibly bored. This is the final movie of the originally planned trilogy from what I gather, and it kind of wraps the story up pretty well.
Talking about this movie without spoiling certain aspects of the previous Saw movies is difficult, so be warned. I'll try to be vague, but I'm sure something will slip.
The cast in this movie is .. fine. There's some overacting and some strange emotional displays in places that you wouldn't expect them, but it's ok I suppose. At the very least, there's much less screaming in this one compared to the others.
The biggest issues they face is that the script is a bit goofy and that comes directly from the plot being so silly. Much like the first two, we're expected to believe these things are even remotely feasible. There are so many plot holes that open up as it goes. The movies seem better off focusing purely on the torture stuff and those people's backstories rather than trying to give details on the Jigsaw killer. This seems like a common theme with most longer stories - there is too much revealed and it not only takes away all of the mystery, but it also opens the entire storyline up to major questions.
If you are curious how the traps are in this movie, the first one that is attached to ribs is interesting. The first and second "tests" for the main dude are not particularly interesting, with the second being flat out stupid. The third is pretty good.
