This straight-to-video Christmas classic knows exactly what it is and embraces it from the start. A nice narrated opening over the credits talking about the notorious killer Jack Frost, a drifter who would blend into a community before "socially cleansing" it as they say, then move on to another community to repeat the process. That is until he got sloppy! Or did he want to get caught?

I've watched this a few Christmas days now, but mostly have watched it in the general "Christmas season" throughout my LONG history with this movie. I don't even know how I found this gem, but I remember watching it in high school, which was the late 90s. I had this movie on VHS before DVD, and now I watch it on streaming services. I hope I've put some money back into their original $500k budget.

I'm not doing any typical casting review. This is a silly horror movie and everyone knows it / acts it. The snowman/Jack Frost is GREAT in his role. Really stupid one-liners, really goofy kills, great voice affectation. The sheriff of the town is an awesome straight man too. This is definitely a b-movie but the acting is close to A tier. Oh yeah, Shannon Elizabeth was in this! Her first role maybe? She has a scene where she and a lad are getting undressed as they are going to PLOUGH, but they come in from outside and have like 20 layers on. It's a funny scene.

This movie is loaded with laughs. There isn't much in the way of gore unless you consider some sort of weird bloody snow "gore." I DON'T. It's hard not to love a movie that has the villain being chased by people with hair dryers. Also the town is called Snomonton. SUCH A COINCIDENCE!

Recommended?

Yeah, do it. I love it. It's stupid as hell and unapologetically so.
