A nice follow-up to Hellraiser in that it came out the next year and directly followed the story. That's pretty much where the "good" ends, though. As all too many movies do, this movie gives away too much backstory on the Cenobites and dilutes their mystery/creepiness factors by about ten billion percent. The ending of this makes them go from "wtf are these creatures" to "oh god who cares." That's the desired effect, right? Maybe not. Special effects are comical. The story is awful. The horror of it is tropey as hell. Wait, am I in Hell?
