I have covid (for the first time!) and I'm dying, so instead of being a zombie at work, I'm tucked into the couch and watching movies. What's the first one up!?
I saw this movie recommended on some random horror board recently and figured I'd give it a shot. The concept seems kind of silly. A trio of people get stuck on a ski lift and have to figure out how to survive. Hmm, ok. This seems more like a short film than a full feature, but whatever. If they can do the pacing right, it'll work!
Spoiler: they can't do pacing right. This movie DRAGS. I think the biggest issue is that the characters are pretty flat. I don't care about any of them and they don't give me a reason to. I did enjoy their foreshadowing on the Jaws thing, but outside of that, it was a whole lot of silly decisions (starting with getting onto the lift after closing in the first place). I can't go into all of their dumb decisions because it spoils the movie, so think up your own stupid scenarios and you'll probably be right on.
The only good thing I'll mention about this movie is the little cameo of the main girl in Hatchet II. Sounds like they came out a few months apart, so it was a nice little callback, though I don't really know many people who have seen either of these movies.
