I spent $40 on a 4k/Blu-Ray copy of this. Was this overboard? YES. I thought my daughter would like it though. I don't even have a 4k player anywhere...
I feel like this movie has such a cult following that I don't really need to explain much about it. I'll tell you what I didn't like and what I did like instead.
WHAT I LIKED
- The costumes
- The over-the-top-ness
- The singing! (particularly Susan Sarandon and Barry Bostwick)
- The sets
WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE
- Dr Scott. It's like Paul F Tompkins in a wheel chair.
- Rocky and Columbia singing. Ugh
- The narrator
This movie drags in parts and really shouldn't. Even the intro is extra long for no good reason. It has some really memorable songs though. Oh, and my daughter DID like it (though my wife did not).
Recommended?
Yeah, see it at least once.
