The late 80s and early 90s had some great baseball movies. Bull Durham, Major League, A League of Their Own, The Sandlot.. I'm not sure what was going on then, but you know what? I was a kid and was really into them. I also played baseball at the time. So give me those rose-colored glasses, it's time to talk about Major League! Tom Berenger is good but who believes him to be a minor league baseball player at that age? And Chelcie Ross. Yeah, not believable. Charlie Sheen's hair is absurd in this movie. I mean, his whole character is absurd. To be slightly critical of this, it clearly rides the coattails of Bull Durham from the year before and shares a lot of the same themes. It basically has the same plot as Slap Shot from '77 but in baseball form instead of hockey. There's nothing groundbreaking here, but it's entertaining anyway. WILD THING!

Hmm, that's tough. It's a pretty decent baseball movie, but out of the ones I listed, it's probably the weakest. It's better than Rookie of the Year at least. Funky butt lovin'!
