The last time I saw this movie, I was a pretty young kid. I'm guessing it was like 91 or 92 when it came out on home video. I didn't remember much of this movie at all. Really just the head bobbing out of the sewer hole.

I'm not sure what to say about this. I don't think I'm a Sam Raimi fan and this movie has his stench all over it. He co-wrote it as well as directed it. YOU CAN TELL.

It's a silly "hero" movie (is he a hero? it's more of a revenge story..) with a lot of weird/silly effects that are Raimi to the max. Liam Neeson is ... fine as the titular character. I never bought his relationship with Frances McDormand though. And while she's technically in this movie, is she actually in this? This is like one of the most phoned in roles I've ever seen.

The villain is a typical billionaire douche with a crew of henchmen. It's such a hackneyed story that you're likely to know the beats before it begins.

Maybe I'm just grumpy because I have a headache but..

Recommended?

No. It's not a good movie.
