Maybe this movie was too built up, but I was expecting more from it. Let's make this quick.
The cast is good and the acting is also good. The story is based on some real stuff with drama sprinkled in. The problem is that the movie is SO tropey and overdone that it's difficult to really engage with it. They could've played this so many different ways, but the way they chose to do it was overdone. I don't care about Billy Beane's fictionalized life, but they sure wanted me to. Spoiler: IT DIDN'T WORK
I never liked the A's. I didn't necessarily dislike them, but their green and yellow Packers look-alikeness does not help for me, a Bears fan. You'd think I'd be a Cubs fan based on that right!? WRONG. I grew up an Orioles fan but bounced to St Louis a few years back because I live in the blackout area of the O's. Is it possible for me to tell you just how stupid blackout rules are? They're much worse than this movie. I don't even live THAT close to Baltimore.
Oh yeah, I'm supposed to be writing about this movie. Eh, whatever.
