I saw this in theaters and then my kids wanted to see it to complete the series. They have seen all of the other Fridays but only 2 of the Nightmares. I couldn't remember much about this other than not being too into it, but it was also 22 years ago that I saw it. WTF.. 22 years.
There are a lot of things about this movie that I absolutely hate. It feels like a cash grab and I guess it probably was. It's not really in either the Friday universe or the Nightmare universe, but simultaneously in both. I guess I would say it's a bit half-assed in both of them. You see some typical Jason moments and some typical Freddy moments, but nothing is satisfying about it.
There are some MASSIVE flaws with this movie. Freddy starts out with an exposition dump that is repeated later by other characters. I wonder if they tested it without that intro and audiences were like "wtf is happening" because they fell asleep before the other explanation. It's ridiculous to have him like some storyteller introducing the entire premise. I hate it.
The acting is also bad but that's kind of how these movies go. I won't ding it too much for that. A bigger issue is that they try to do some sort of Jay & Silent Bob ... parody? with one of the characters and it does NOT work at all. It's like they saw J&SB (the movie) and thought "we can cash in on this!" but didn't really understand what makes Jay .. Jay.
Another massive issue is the overuse of slow-motion when their cameras were in regular speed. It leads to ridiculous blurred, stuttery shots that give nothing to the movie. I can't figure out why this was added in at all.
The biggest issue to me is that this movie is BORING. Not like it has some slow parts (GET IT, FROM THE SLOW MOTION?) but that it's boring the entire way through. It adds nothing to either series and I'm glad it was the last one of its kind.

No, not a chance.
